So *instead* of Facebooking and putzing around online during the day (yikes! I have 284 unread blogs! And I only have 33 on my read list! Maybe that needs to be cut as well...) I've been catching up on things around the home and continuing my quest to learn how to sew clothing. Check out what I made today for my Ruby:

Isn't it so cute?! I used this pattern and believe me, I didn't believe I was going to end up with pants even when I was getting to the end of it. I couldn't *see* how turning it around and whatnot was going to produce a product that two wee legs were going to get into. Was I surprised when it actually worked!
And come on now, won't her little hiney look adorable in these? I sewed the pockets closedby mistake on purpose because she isn't exactly at the point of using pockets yet.

Later that evening my husband brought me a birthday gift from a friend who won't be able to go to my shing-ding given to me by my very sweet friends for my 40th birthday coming up. And I pulled out this:

Yes, this apron is GOR-GE-OUS. And yes, she made it all by herself. And yes, it puts my little pair of pants to sewing-shame. But I so ADORE this gift!!! It took her a crazy amount of time and effort and care that I am not even the little bit worthy of. Her time was the biggest gift. It was her *instead* that blessed me tremendously, and I am so humbled. Thank you, friend!!!
Blessings,
