Scripture Wall Words

Putting Scripture on the walls of our home helps us to stay focused on the Word and on Him who has graciously given it to us. Sometimes it's pretty convicting, especially if I'm having a very selfish moment when the duties I am about seem mired in petty irritations. Nevertheless, walls are a wonderful way to remind us all of what we are about, and what we are to BE about. Here are some ways we have done this:

The easiest and quickest way is to print it out on paper. We put this above a map with pushpins showing us all the places from where fellow believers joined us to support the care of our Ruby after her birth. Samaritan's Ministries is a wonderful organization. I sure *hope* our president will allow us to "keep what we're happy with" ;)

You don't even need a computer and printer. Here is another paper method, using a simple red marker. We wrote this Scripture onto the timeline we have on our wall. Having a timeline this big is a great way to get a sense of history and how things fit together.

This is a bit more permanent. I used a white paint pen onto the lip of my countertop, in front of my kitchen sink, and free-handed Deuteronomy 12:7 And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee. I really (really) need the reminder that I am commanded to REJOICE, and what better place than where I am most of the time?

I bought wooden letters from a craft store, painted and then roughed them up, and put them onto a post that greets everyone when they come in from the back door. You've heard that expression, "back door friends are best"? I want to bless everyone that comes into my home, but especially the people that know they can just come on in! (If you know where my tea drawer is, you are one of them!)

This is the most expensive way that I've used to put the Word up. I put this up in my laundry room: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Yep, I need that Word for the daily grind every single day! This was printed up in a long sheet of single letters, rubbed and then sloooooooowly peeled off. It was a pain. Three year olds like to pick at the letters. But....I love it still. It looks cool. I got it from Wise Decor and would love to get more to put in other places (higher up) in the house.

You could also put Scripture onto things. My husband put different verses on a set of measuring cups for me (such as Psalms 116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD). I hope this gives you some ideas, but let us remember that the most important place to keep the Word is within our hearts.
